Kate has a breadth of experience in all areas of family law, with a particular interest in financial matters and international relocation proceedings (applications brought by parents to move their children overseas).

She is regularly involved in financial cases involving asset tracing, complex trust structures and tax issues. Kate has also successfully secured emergency freezing injunctions to prevent the dissipation of family assets. She is also experienced in advising on pre- and post-marital agreements and cohabitation agreements.  

Before joining us in 2015, she worked in the family-team at Irwin Mitchell for 10 years, initially as a paralegal and then later qualifying as a solicitor in 2012.

Kate studied Law and Criminology at Cardiff University and took her professional examinations at the College of Law in London, where she gained a distinction. She is a member of Resolution.

  • Kate acted for a wife/ mother in successfully obtaining a without notice non-molestation order that protected her and her children from her ex- partner, and secured an occupation order so they could return home safely.
  • Acted for a father and successfully appealed a Child Arrangements Order, enabling him to spend more time with his children.
  • Acted for a husband in successfully resisting a wife’s application to obtain a divorce in England & Wales on the basis that the husband had already issued proceedings in Singapore.
  • Successfully defended an application made by the mother to change the child’s school.
