Katie advises on a full range of family law matters, including the finances of divorce and disputes involving children.

She has particular expertise in private law children matters and wide experience of complex situations involving international/jurisdiction issues and allegations of abuse. She also advises in relation to adoption and surrogacy.

She is well versed with the financial complexities arising in cases involving high net worth individuals and trust structures (including those with an offshore element).

Katie studied English and Philosophy at the University of Southampton, took her Legal Practice examinations at BPP Law school, where she gained a distinction. She qualified as a solicitor in May 2015, having trained at a highly ranked Legal 500/ Chambers central London practice. She is a member of Resolution.

Highlights

  • Obtained orders to protect a mother and child, who were victims of domestic abuse, from the child’s father.  She secured orders forcing the father to complete a domestic violence perpetrator’s course before the court would consider that he spend any unsupervised time with the child.
  • Acted for a wife in a successful urgent application to stop the husband disposing of property without her consent, as part of his attempt to defeat her claim for financial relief.
  • Acted for a father in an urgent application in the High Court after the mother had abducted the children and fled abroad to join a religious community.
  • Assisted in a case acting for surrogate parents obtaining a parental order in the High Court where there were issues obtaining & evidencing the surrogate mother’s consent in India.
