Known for being smart, practical and astute, Tom has huge experience dealing with complex, multi-jurisdictional cases and he acts for an increasingly diverse range of clients.
His case load extends from financial settlements on divorce or dissolution, to disputes concerning the care of children. He is particularly well known for his skilful drafting of nuptial agreements and frequently advises on wealth protection.
He has a reputation for being fiercely protective of his clients and unwavering in his pursuit of their cases, both in negotiations and court proceedings.
Tom came to London to study Law at the London School of Economics. He joined us in 2018, after more than 10 years at Charles Russell, one of London’s leading firms, where he gained his expertise acting in high value, multinational disputes.
Tom is a member of Resolution and in 2020, achieved the professional accolade of being ranked in Chambers.
Highlights
- Tom acted for the husband in a widely reported case in which the terms of a restrictive pre-nuptial agreement were successfully overturned.
- Tom acted for one of the parties in the first case to reach the Court of Appeal concerning the division of finances following the dissolution of a civil partnership.
- Tom acted for the husband in the case which established that Saudi Arabian Talaqs are capable of recognition in England and Wales, which led to an extremely beneficial outcome to the client in the financial settlement.
